Description

Material XW-5 steel is a high-carbon, high chromium tool steel alloyed with tungsten. XW-5 steel is high alloyed tool steel suitable for medium and long run tooling in applications where a very good abrasive wear resistance is needed. XW-5 contains large carbides which are advantageous for abrasive wear resistance. XW-5 characterized by:

• High wear resistance
• High compressive strength
• High surface hardness after hardening
• Good through-hardening properties
• Good stability in hardening
• Good resistance to tempering-back
